Flatmates, free toilet paper and how to win $600

I've been in a few share houses in my time.

In my Uni days I remember moving seven times one year.

Toilet Paper

I can't even remember the names of half the flatmates I used to live with. Crazy times.

Along the way, being the poor student, I sometimes used general household items that belonged to my flatmates that I probably shouldn't have been touching.

Toilet paper was always the hardest to resist.

Hiding away, door closed - I was a vulnerable young man tempted by the choices in front of me.

Should I use my scratchy 2 ply roll and risk the painful consequences of being honest, or borrow just a few sheets of my flatmate's nice soft 4 ply roll that sat calling out to me?

It's a bit naughty... but I reckon we've all chosen the latter option at some point.

There you sit, wondering in earnest if your flatmate will notice a couple of missing sheets from their roll.

Nahhh... as if.

Something you might not know about me

I like to cook.

And because it's Easter in a few days time I thought I'd share a rich Easter treat recipe that won't cost you a lot of time or money.

Easter Eggs

I can't remember where I found the recipe but I've been making it every Easter for a few years now.

Warning to Hot cross bun connoisseurs - You might think it a little "short-cut sacrilegious" to use ready-made hot cross buns but using a real vanilla bean pod (very Jamie Oliver), and some quality dark chocolate, will help make it feel a little fancy.

Impress this Easter without have to bust your bunions.

Give it a try.

Earth Hour, the birth of Tight Arts and the power of light bulb moments

(Video at the bottom of this page)

Funny memories indeed.

Earth Hour 2009 was when it all unfolded.

Sean had one of his mates over so we decided to have a small planet-saving soiree in our apartment.

It started off innocently enough. A bit of food, the lights out and candles cranked up.

But after a few red wines, talk of saving the planet somehow morphed into a very revealing chat about how Jason (Sean's mate) saved money.

Our Earth "hour" suddenly turned into a two-hour candle-lit event. The information Jason was sharing with us was simply priceless, unheard of and very, very funny.

Members who've been with us for a while will remember our tight arts tips.

Jason, a real life Tight Arts Master, was the brainchild of all of these.

I'm so excited!

And it's nothing to do with the man in the Roberto Cavalli underwear in the piccy below- just take a look at the drastically reduced price to the left!

Getting only 50% off the marked price is soooo yesterday.

Our friends at Ozsale (thanks Jim Lees) have come to the party with an amazing offer for Cash Doctors members.

Yippee.
