Australia Day Celebrations at Cash Doctors

We've got loads of patriotism and lashings of strine!

It's great fun working amongst Australians. I've worked in other countries, but it's never been as good as it is here at Cash Doctors.

In my experience, work ethic in Australia is excellent. That fear of being labelled a 'bludger' keeps us on our toes I reckon.

Cash Doctors has a great company culture and I love being part of it. The team works hard to ensure we always deliver the promise of instant cash relief.

We're Australians helping Australians…it's a nice feeling.

So what to do on Australia Day?

I'll probably hit the beach here on the Goldy…a bit of a surf and swim. And the day won't go by without a BBQ.

The team at Cash Doctors have started the celebrations early…watch the vid and beware the strine (aussie slang).

Have a Captain Cook….

Don't let the Big Day Out be a sad day in

There's still time to get a Cash Doctors cash advance and get Big Day Out tickets now.

Big Day Out

This is me strumming to the news that there are still Big Day Out tickets out there.

Do you know anyone who has Big Day Out tickets?

Maybe you need some cash to buy tickets last minute?

I've just checked Ebay and the official Big Day Out website ( http://www.bigdayout.com/home.php ) and there's still a few big day out tickets for the Gold, Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.

Ebay has a few "buy it now" options on Ebay... that'll save you having to sweat over bidding that gets out of control.

The big day out website says there's Big Day Out Tickets for Sydney on the 23rd from Ticketmaster.

Ebay's tickets are a little pricey... but when you gotta go... you gotta go! But I'd suggest you do your Ebay homework and be careful and make sure you buy fro... Read More »

We ran out of Catie Cash! So we had to find a new one

New year. New Catie Cash.

Cash Doctors loved the original Catie Cash. But there's always a risk people playing popular characters will get discovered and move on to pursue other roles and interests. Think actors who've played James Bond for instance... .or Shakespearean roles like Romeo and Juliette.

That's what's happened. Cash Doctors had to find a new Catie Cash to play the Best Deals Diva for 2010.

So here I am... Catie Cash reborn. Same name. Same sort of savings tips and best deals. Looking a wee bit different but still with the same savings attitude.

Meet the new Catie Cash!

The New Catie Cash

I'm so excited! I've already done my first video about my love affair with a guy called Aaron from iselect.com.au.

Hardly wait to bust some savings moves in 2010!

Cheers!

My Worst Christmas Ever

09 Dec 2009 by Greg Ellis in Founders Blog

Christmas 2005 sucked a lot for Sean and I.

It sucked because we had no money. We didn't have much time either. But sometimes you have to make sacrifices.

In this case it was a place to live and a new girlfriend.

Let me explain...

We're super organised now, but, we made some rookie errors at the start - and under -budgeted for the start up.

One of us had to mow lawns in Brisbane a couple of days a week to make ends meet. We were behind in rent and bills in our place in Brisbane.

We scraped but we believed in what we were doing and sometimes that's all you need.

On top of it all we'd both just met new girls and we didn't have a lot of time or money to sweep them off their feet - just like we do these days.

On Christmas Eve, it all came to a head.

That day, I mowed 14 lawns. People like their places looking good for Christmas.

One fussy client had made me get down on my knees and scoop blades of grass off her driveway with my bare hands.

What a day.

After having a cold outdoor shower... Read More »
