Management Team
Sean Teahan

Sean Teahan fondly remembers the day; sitting around a living room in Paddington, Brisbane, in April 2005 when he and Greg first conceived of the possibility that they could help out Australians in a way that they wished had been available to them in the past. The idea was simple - providing credit of just a few hundred dollars to help people out when they need it…and doing so as fast and as easy as possible.
His philosophy has not changed much since then - a driven passion to provide the fastest, most convenient payday loans in Australia.
Sean, originally from Ireland, has always had an interest in business which is one of the reasons he decided to become accountant, qualifying in Ireland in 2000. He held various accounting and financial positions in several organizations, one of which resulted in a fortuitous meeting with Greg Ellis. Their shared interest in entrepreneurship soon resulted in the setting up of an online recruiting company in Ireland, which they ran successfully for over 3 years and ultimately sold in 2004.
He then took a break of almost a year before deciding it was time to move on and landed in Australia in 2005, firing up his business partnership with Greg once more. When he and Greg committed to Cash Doctors, they both invested every penny (including pennies they didn't have) in the business. Risking everything and verging on bankruptcy at one point, they didn't really have enough to live on and picked up work mowing lawns on the side to get by.
In hindsight this difficult time has proven to be one his most valuable assets as it allows him to identify intimately with Cash Doctors clients. He also understands that just like he and Greg did through financially challenging times - it is vital to have a long-term financial plan if you truly want to have financial freedom. This is why Cash Doctors is so active in encouraging clients to take steps to plan realistically for their financial future and use payday loans only as a short-term solution.
Sean now spends his time focusing on strategic and research & development aspects of Cash Doctors…. including of course ways to make Cash Doctors loans even faster and easier for clients.
Greg Ellis

Greg was one of the founders of Cash Doctors, building and growing the company profitably alongside Sean Teahan since November 2005. He now shares some responsibility for day to day running of Cash Doctors operations with Sean Teahan and Dave Turner, but is most active in the areas of marketing, research and software development.
Now 32, his interest in small loans emerged from life experience when he was fresh out of university, where he earned degrees in International Business and Economics. ³I blew every penny I earned and more....king for a day and fool for a fortnight!"
Later when creating Cash Doctors, he and Sean put absolutely all their resources into starting Cash Doctors. They had no spare money at all. For over a year, they had to mow lawns a day each a week to support ourselves until Cash Doctors developed. Their first hand experience helped them to see things from their clients' point of view and shape every aspect Cash Doctors for them.
Prior to creating Cash Doctors, Greg worked as a financial planner and also> did accounts related contract overseas, where he met Sean Teahan in Ireland. Between 2001 and 2004, Greg and Sean started, ran and sold an online health recruiting company in Ireland.
Now living in Main Beach, Queensland, Greg surfs, rides his bike and hangs out with his girlfriend when he¹s not busy at Cash Doctors.
Nick Auchincloss

Cash Doctors’ new CEO, Nick Auchincloss has led an interesting life. From being born in war torn Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe); through time managing sponsorships for organizations such as the British Army, LEGO, and a top UK Model agency; to boarding a plane, alone, to Australia on 7 January 2008, things have never been boring.
Most of Nick’s career has been working in financial institutions, starting off as a Customer Account Manager at HFC Bank (now part of the HSBC Group) where he quickly became a leading salesman and then a flourishing sales manager. Success saw him head hunted by the UK’s then leading Corporate Foreign Exchange business, Exchange Direct plc where, as Associate Sales Manager, he helped drive the team behind the 25th fastest growing company in the UK. When the company was forced into liquidation after 9/11, Nick found himself unemployed and decided to travel, coming where else but Australia.
Here, in January 2002, his love affair with Australia began but it would be a further 6 years before dreams of working in Australia would come true. On returning to the UK, he helped set up sponsorship management team, Deuce Racing for the popular ASCAR series (based on the NASCAR from the US). Deuce Racing teamed sponsors such as the Territorial Army and LEGO with the UK’s number one race team, RML to see the TA car win the 2003 European Championship.
Eventually, a love of consumer credit saw Nick return to finance, initially as a consultant and then as Head of Corporate Development at the UK’s leading online payday loan company, MEM Consumer Finance Ltd. Here he was responsible for new projects, including the ability to provide a completely automated service, which radically changed the growth and profitability of the business.
This led to the company being acquired by NASDAQ listed US business, CompuCredit. Post acquisition, Nick was tasked with international expansion, with Australia as the principle target market. Here he came into contact with Cash Doctors, seeing them as the stand out online payday loan business in Australia and began acquisition talks. Greg and Séan weren’t for sale but the relationship had begun, which saw Nick begin 2008 as Cash Doctor’s CEO.
Outside of work, Nick enjoys, reading, fine dining (a good red wine is the way to his heart) and music – The Beatles being a particular favourite!
